New Lexmark Printer Burns CDs
By Ron Eggers
Lexmark designed the P450 to give users an easy and affordable way to transfer images from their digital camera memory cards to CDs, by creating digital archives that are simple to save, organize and share. It gives users the power to view, print, edit, save, organize and share their digital photos. Everything is controlled from the unit's 2.4" flip-up color screen. Among its other new features are the ability to print photos directly from a Bluetooth technology cell phone (optional adaptor required), from virtually any digital camera product through its PictBridge port or memory cards, or from a USB flash drive. It accepts CompactFlash I & II cards, SmartMedia cards, Sony Memory Sticks, Memory Sticks Pro, Secure Digital cards, MultiMediaCard cards and xD cards. It has built-in tools that crop and rotate images and correct for unwanted color tints and red eye. The Lexmark P450, which produces borderless 4800 x 1200 dpi, 4" by 6" color prints for 29 cents each when used with the Lexmark photo printing kit, is expected to begin shipping in October with a street price of $199.
