Tip 4: Relive Your Youth
Depending on your age, you might remember those psychedelic glow in the dark
posters that were popular a certain number of years back. Once again, Photoshop
and Elements can help you relive your lost youth, or just discover what we thought
was cool back then. For this image of a dogwood blossom, I used the Glowing
Edges filter, found in the Stylize section of either the Filters menu, or the
Filters Gallery.
To bring out more detail in the flower petals and central portion of the flower,
I increased the Edge Width to 9 and Edge Brightness to 8. Groovy eh?

Tip 5: High-Contrast Graphics
For my final trick, I’m going to turn an abandoned caboose into a high-contrast
graphic image. This particular trick was done very easily in Photoshop using
the Exposure control found under Image>Adjustment> Exposure. To get this
look, I increased Exposure to +1.90 and lowered the Gamma to 1.30. The end result
is a totally blown out sky and very hard edges to all color areas of the photograph.
